Terms of Service

Last updated July 28, 2026.

By using lake.cam ("the service") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

lake.cam is a directory of publicly viewable lake cameras, streamed live where the camera owner has made them available. We aim to keep streams available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access — cameras can go offline, and streams start only while someone is watching.

Accounts

You need an account, authenticated through Firebase (Google or email/password), to submit a camera. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. We may suspend or remove an account that violates these terms.

Submitting a camera

By submitting a camera you confirm that:

We review submissions before publishing and may decline or later remove any camera at our discretion — including if it stops meeting our streaming requirements, goes offline for an extended period, or is the subject of a valid complaint.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service to: violate the law; harass or endanger anyone; scrape or redistribute streams at scale; attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service; or submit a camera you don't have the right to share.

Third-party content

Camera streams and time-lapses are provided by their respective owners/operators, who are solely responsible for their content. We don't monitor streams continuously and aren't responsible for what a given camera shows.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee any camera's availability, accuracy, or continuity.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, lake.cam isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on any camera stream.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
